Uninvited Guest His heart was pounding heavily. He was sure he had seen the door knob turn. Charlie, a man with brown hair, blue eyes, slowly walked down the stairs towards the garage door. Someone was trying to get in. Thankfully, the door was locked. One day he forgot to re-lock the door when he left to go to the doctor. When he got home from the doctor’s office, his house was robbed. He quickly looked for what was missing. All of his kitchen knives were gone. His calendar was missing. Charlie was stunned. The robber now knew when he was home or not. He called the police and in 15 minutes Bob the investigator was there. The investigator had red hair that was nicely greased, a thin, blond mustache, and a button nose. He had a huge magnifying glass the size of his head. Charlie told the investigator the whole story and what happened. They talked about all the possibilities that could have happened. “Hmmmm” the investigator said. He said to call him if anything happened or Charlie found out anymore. Then the investigator left. Not a minute after, the mail man came. Charlie saw a glimmering object in the mail man’s bag. “Hey, since you’re here,” Charlie said “would you mind watching over my house? I was just robbed so I would feel more comfortable.” “Sure,” the mail man replied. Charlie had just run out of milk and decided to go to the super market. He got in his car and drove to the super market. It took about 10 minutes. He was trying to decide what milk to buy. He got a restricted call, and guessed that it was just an outside of New York call. He answered it and it wasn’t anyone he knew. He looked down the aisle and a man was talking on a phone staring straight at him. The call said that he should leave the store immediately and don’t go home. Charlie wasn’t listening to any of it.He hung up and the man in the aisle hung up too. He went to the cash register and but he didn’t buy the milk. Charlie quickly drove home. When he got home his house was broken into, and his hidden key was gone. The screen was torn through and the door handle was on the ground. The mail man, who was supposed to be watching the house, was nowhere in sight. He called the investigator. The investigator entered, 15 minutes later, through the garage. He heard a noise, and assumed it was a mouse. He asked Charlie if he had any mice in his garage. Charlie didn’t. They went to investigate the garage. They saw mail scattered on the floor. The mail man ran across the garage to get out. They saw the keys drop from the mail man’s pocket. He tried to jump into the police car, but it was locked. The investigator had time to catch up and grabbed him. They found out that the man was a trained killer. Further information was found out and the man at the super market was blackmailed by the mail man and was only in jail for 3 months.
